Human Factors of Performance Programs

Human performance, health and wellbeing is one of Army and SOCAUST's top priorities. DSTO scientists, including SOCOMD embedded S&T Advisors, are conducting research in support of the implementation and validation of a range of Human Performance initiatives.

These measures will supplement trainer feedback, and may include monitoring of psycho-physiological responses such as heart rate variability, eye movement and pupillometry (changes in pupil diameter). Links to existing worldwide research and its application to short, mid and longer term performance monitoring will be ongoing focus as these initiatives develop. These may also include biomarkers, bio-feedback training and even fMRI techniques.
